A-12

From TinWiki.org

The A-12 Avenger II was a flying wing aircraft manufactured by McDonell Douglas and General Dynamics. It was meant to be a stealth attack replacement for the A-6 Intruder. Instead the Navy replaced the aircraft (among other) with the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. The craft was cancelled in January 1991 by the then-secretary of Defence Dick Cheney, is it thought that the cancelation was done because they would of costed an estimate $165 million each. However, sightings of the craft persist to this day around Area 51.

The A-12 has been drawn by many artists, it is mainly appearing in the shape of a isosceles triangle, near the frontal point is where the cockpit is located. Descriptions of the craft show us that it should have about 26,000 lbf of thrust buy two general Electric F412-GE-D5F2 Turbo fans. Its weaponry is thought to be two AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles, two AGM-88 HARMs and alot more. Due to its apperance it has earned a nick name of "The Flying Dorito."
