The F/A-19 was an aircraft first recognized by the Testors Company, which is well known in the creation of aircraft and vehicle models. Testors claimed that it would be the next fighter aircraft, but they were wrong with the unveiling of the F-117. Technically, the F/A-19 should have been the next craft, according to the new Unified Number System used at the time. The F-117 would have come next in the Pre-Unified Number System, but shouldn't have, considering the Unified System was officially in use since 1962.

The F/A-19's specifics are patented by the United States Air Force (USAF) as the F-19, but were never used. A possibility is that the craft was never used, but the more popular theory was that the craft became one of many rumored black projects, such as the TR-3 and Aurora.
