Anti-Hate LawsFrom TinWiki.org
Anti-Hate Laws are legislation now (May 2007) before the United States Congress that would criminalize, among other things, "hate speech". Christians especially, but also conspiracy theorists and others, are concerned that such laws would in reality stifle freedom of speech. The main issue that people have with this is that people think that their right of free speech will be written out. The point of this would be to get rid of things like hate speeches, speeches that are supposedly meant to degrade, intimidate, or incite violence or prejudicial action against a person or group of people based on their race, gender, age, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, language ability, moral or political views, socioeconomic class, occupation or appearance (such as height, weight, and hair color), mental capacity and any other distinction-liability. Hate Laws will cover oral communication, the written word and any other forms of the aforementioned acts. [edit] See also[edit] External links
