Brave New WorldFrom TinWiki.orgBrave New World is a 1932 novel by Aldous Huxley, where a totalitarian society is described. The book is quite famous, and its title has become an expression. Brave New World was written in 1932 whilst Huxley was living in France. The book is set in London. This novel is much like the novel 1984 which was written by George Orwell. In Brave New World the planet is a dystopia, humans live in a carefree and healthy way with a high understanding and level of technology. However they have had to sacrifice many things that we today see as the very essence of our freedom, they had to surrender there religion, art, science and many other factors which we could not live without. War is fought in times of poverty or when people are not happy, since everyone is happy war and poverty has disappeared -- everyone is happy because they are taken drugs which are being supplied by their government. When a citizen of this brave new world is suffering or in any pain they will be induced into a hallucinatory state were all there problems disappear. Additionally, social stability has been achieved and is maintained via deliberately engineered and rigidly enforced social stratification.
