Continuity of government

Continuity of Government is a United States Government program to ensure the continuance of Government in the likelihood of a nuclear attack or other national natural disasters through policy, procedure, and protocols. It was originally developed by the British during WWII in order to assist during the Battle of Britain while the Luftwaffe was bombing. The necessity of this program was foreseen by the United States Government during the Cold War in order to ensure the continuance of Government power due to a possible power vacuum.

In the conspiracy theory world however it is hotly and sometimes savagely disputed to be a part of a Shadow Government of the United States of America in order to pull strings through the usage of a national crisis or natural disaster in order to bypass the United States Constitution. It is also in some of the various fields of conspiracy theory mainstream assumed to be linked to a conspiracy between Government and inter-dimensional aliens beings called "The Greys", or E.B.E.'s, linking Washington D.C., F.E.M.A., or Federal Emergency Management Agency, as well as Homeland Security to facilities like the often disputed Area 51, also know as Dreamland, Groom Lake, and S-4 which is assumed to be linked to the 1947 Roswell, New Mexico incident where a supposed alien craft crashed.

This is sometimes hotly disputed by "conspiracy theorists" which are then labeled by people in the mainstream as "the lone nutcases" or people who are generally shunned by people the conspiracy theorists then label as "sheeple" being people who blindly follow everything the Government says, believing in the benevolency of their leaders good will as well as their voting actually working towards holding power over Government. This leads one to believe among certain divisions of society that their is an extreme right-wing and left-wing agenda towards total world domination through the Continuity of Government programs.

Continuity of Government is often referred to as C.O.G. in reference to the wheels of a giant cog in a machine. Often also linked to the "Military Industrial Complex" in many different areas. The speculation among the conspiracy theorists often attributes to the divide and conquer mentality that keeps facts mixed with fiction as well as the truth from being figured out amongst citizens that want answer and their counterparts in the conspiracy theory world. It is often attributed also to being linked to H.A.A.R.P., or High-Frequency Active Aural Research Program which conspiracy theorist believe is linked to mind-control as well as weather control. It is also often believed to being linked to D.A.R.P.A., or Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Greenbrier Hotel

The Greenbrier Hotel used to be considered the leading facility which hid the bunker facility to house members of the United States Congress in the possibility of a cataclysmic event. The Greenbrier was decommissioned in 1992 after controversy when it became public knowledge due to a concerned citizen who discovered it and leaked the knowledge to the newspaper, the Washington Post.

Fictional book reference

Cerberus is a reference in two fiction book series, Deathlands and Outlanders as an Underground Military Redoubt in the mountains of Montana. Briefly referenced as just a group of travelers seeing the picture of a hand-drawn picture of Cerberus, the Hound of Hell in Deathlands, Cerberus takes on a meaning more during the second book series of Outlanders where the fictional character Kane and his group take on their former alien masters by overthrowing the barons reigns of power.

The fictional book series both mention Continuity of Government facilities in reference to the Cerberus facility being the main unit to maintain the network of mat-trans or matter-transfer chambers similar to the Star Trek transporter, which in the book series can move an individual across one side of the world to the other, and even inter-planetary travel as well as time-travel.
