The Council on Foreign Relations, or CFR, is a non-governmental organization that holds meetings and conferences on US foreign policy. In its own words, the organization "was founded in 1921 by businessmen, bankers, and lawyers determined to keep the United States engaged in the world."

Think Tank

The CFR is also home to a "Think Tank" on foreign policy. It sponsors independent studies and conducts its own studies on various related issues. The CFR also publishes a magazine on policy issues, called Foreign Affairs, which invites authors from various backgrounds to write articles on a wide array of topics relevant to international politcs, economy, and policy. The CFR is headquartered in the Harold Pratt House on Park Avenue in New York City.


Globalism

The organization is widely seen as a globalist entity, supporting and advancing the cause of one world governance, integration of national economies into a common free market, and establishment of international legal standards.
