Alien technology is considered the Holy Grail of Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) enthusiasts - for obvious reasons: Any intelligent species capable of traversing the incredible distances of space (and perhaps even time or dimensions) must be very advanced.

As such, even a small amount of alien technology would have amazing applications.

Propulsion

The greatest question concerning UFologists is just how extraterrestrials could travel such huge distances in an amount of time that would be economically feasible. For example, humans could send a crew to a far away star by freezing the crew and having them dethaw upon arrival. The problem here is that the distances are so vast, that it would require an incredible amount of time given the limits of known technologies.

A star-traveler would have to traverse these vast distances by either approaching the speed of light or by circumventing the theoretical limit of v/c = 1.0. Theoretically, if a UFO approached light speed, it's occupants would enjoy time ratio benefits that a stationary observer would not. This time-ratio relation, originated by H.A Lorentz and incorporated by Einstein as a cornerstone of his Special Theory of Relativity, says to square the velocity ratio, subtract from one, and take the square root to obtain the ratio of on-board time to the time for the stationary observer. I.E. if the UFO was traveling at a speed of v/c = 0.999999, then it covers one light year of distance in 0.00141 year or 12 hours and 35 minutes.

Circumventing the speed of light has been hypothesized and a number of methods have beed proposed:

Warp drive

The warp drive method involves an incredible understanding of the relationship of space and time, as well as how to manipulate gravity. Such a craft could easily traverse enormous distances in minimal time, truely like on Star Trek. Acceleration here is not a factor, since the ship itself could travel very slowly, and then just warp the space around it to travel an equivilantly far distance.

UnUnPentium (element-115)

The theoretical particle UnUnPentium (element-115) could have incredible nuclear capabilities, as it would be just barely stable. This could be used for a nuclear near-light-speed propulsion, or as a power source for some other propulsion. There's a third theory that UUP can also disturb/create gravity waves, allowing for a type of Warp Drive. Exactly how a particle could do such things, and if so why only this one, is a mystery, and as such the vailidity of the gravity-wave theory or UnUnPentium is seriously in question.

Dimensional shifting

How, in a universe where the Speed of Light is absolute, do you go faster than the speed of light? The answer - you don't, you enter a different dimension where the speed of light is faster. It's theorized that UFOs could shift to a different dimension where this is so, travel a great distance and speeds vastly greater than light-speed here, and then re-enter our universe, "skipping" the space that was in between. This is probably the leading UFO theory on interplanetary transportation.

Weaponry

No UFOs have, to date, been observed discharging weapons - however, devices that can act like a weapon, and other evidence, suggests that there well could be.

Common abilities of UFOs are energy beams that can roast a target as if by a microwave beam. Many scorch marks have been indicated around UFO landings, although these are almost certainly byproducts of their propulsion. There are claims for alien "tractor beams" that can pull or lift objects without touching them. Teleporting also seems to be within their grasp in some reported cases, especially relating to UFO Abduction.

Perhaps most frightening is the report of air and water-craft attempting to hunt down a UFO, only to be lost and never found, or lost and found destroyed, wrecked - with no signs of weapon fire at all.

Implants

It has been reported during abductions that abductees often are implanted with some kind of tracking device, much like the stapling or branding from here on Earth with regards to tracking endangered species. Whether this is the reason for the implantations or not is unknown.

Alien implants are often located slightly below the skin, are metallic, and are completely sterile. They almost never provoke an immune-system reaction. They are almost like growths of metal, and examinations have never conclusively proven anything. Often an implant will disappear before the surgery, even though it showed up very clearly in both physicals and X-rays mere weeks or days prior.

Implants can be found almost anywhere - from the nasal, to the brain, to the ankle, to the rectum. Although some of these can be explained away, many of them remain elusive as to their origins, and later, their disappearances.
