Flying Triangle or Black Triangle is the name commonly given to Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) that share the same charcteristics, ie shape. Seen for decades they have been sighting reports from all over the world such as Europe, North and South America and the United Kingdom. Typically they are reported as being silent and flying slow or stationary but also have exhibited immense speed. Often with a single light at each intersecting angle and and a further one placed centrally with sometimes an additional red light central to one side, they have also exhibited multi-coloured flashing lights around the perimeter. Sightings seemed to increase from 1990 and a study was carried out by NIDS (National Institute for Discovery Science) to try to establish any pattern, the eventual findings were to show that sightings occured in populated areas and near or over public roads and highways.

Some sightings have been attributed to black project/ops aircraft such as the mystical TR3B and others to delta platform aircraft such as the F117 Nighthawk and B2 Spirit Stealth Bomber but findings from the NIDS report seems to discount secret development aircraft because of the obvious deployment over areas that can produce potentially many witnesses, when compared to the known pre release testing flight patterns of aircraft like the F117 and B2 the sightings do not correlate to those reported of triangles.

The Belgium Connection

Perhaps the most well known case for Flying Triangles is The Belgium UFO Flap which occured on March 30 1990 when a large Black Triangle was seen stationary over Brussels for several minutes. Among the witnesses were several Police Officers one of which observed the craft release a red glowing disc that darted between buildings and then dissapeared, the triangle departed at high speed.

Unusually in this case the craft was detected on radar and the Belgium Airforce scrambled F-16's to pursue the triangle, radar operators and pilots reported that it picked up enormous speed everytime a radar lock was achieved one of the pilots indicating a speed of 900 knots, nine radar locks were achieved but finally the craft just dissappeared.
