Lyndon Baines Johnson (August 27, 1908 – January 22, 1973) was the 36th. President of the United States of America.

He was born in Stonewall, TX. To investigate the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Johnson created a special panel called the Warren Commission. He was elected President in 1964. Madeleine Brown, his mistress, accused him to be behind the murder of JFK. It is thought that he may off been a key player in the Kennedy assassination because he was in line to take over if anything happened to JFK, for example a assassination, and he then did take control after that. President in his own right in a landslide victory in the 1964 Presidential election. Johnson was a major leader of the Democratic Party and as President was responsible for designing the "Great Society" legislation. This piece of legislation included civil rights laws, medical treatment to the elderly and help in war torn society's and education. He increased the amount of troops in Vietnam from 16,000 to 550,000 within a small space of 5 years. As aforementioned he was a key man in many pieces of legislation some are as follows...
