Keeping value

It is said that the same amount of precious metals can pay for the same amount of goods today as it did years ago or even decades ago. The same is not true for fiat money (currencies not backed by precious metals) which is instead typically dropping dramatically in value as the years go by.

Offices raided by federal agents

On November 15, 2007, the Liberty Dollar offices were reportedly raided by federal agents and everything in the offices confiscated. This dramatic incident happened after Liberty Dollar coins with the image of Ron Paul had been minted.

A Class Action Lawsuit by owners of Liberty Dollar certificates is underway.
