[edit] Melon Heads in OhioIn Kirtland, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, there are stories of Melon Heads who are said to kill and sometimes eat humans who trespass on their property. The man responsible for the Melon Heads condition in Ohio is said to be an evil physician name Dr. Crow (or Crowe). Supposedly the government told Crow to treat children with a condition call hydrocephalus, in which large amounts of water gather in the brain. Dr. Crow did just the opposite of treatment, he injected the children's heads with more water, abused them, and exposed them to dangerous radiation. As a result, the kids suffered mental and physical retardation. They turned into feral being acting on instinct and attacked Dr. Crow one day and ate him after. As a result of their attack on Dr. Crow, they overturn chemicals and electrical appliances creating a fire that light the entire laboratory, but they escaped anyways. There are many reports each years about these Melon Heads looking out of the woods to stare at people on nearby streets. Hikers find slaughtered animals in the trees, who they blame on the feral beings and many have also been attacked by them, mostly along the edges of the Chagrin River. Allegedly they now live on Wisner Road and they only come out at night. [edit] MichiganThe Melon Heads of Michigan are said to live in Saugatuck, near the ruins of Felt Mansion. There was allegedly a kid with a over sized head, so everyone laughed at him and the parents and kid could not tolerate it anymore so they moved deep into the woods. they inbred and began to hate people in society. Some think a virgin girl was sacrificed in an area of the Allegan county woods, near Silver Creek and they put the blame on the Melon Heads. The story above may not be accurate, but another theory is that the family or families of Melon Heads had hydrocephalus. They are said to inhabit Junction Insane Asylum, but no proof of that the building even existed. They are now said to live in underground caves and also said that the local government put brush over the entrances and sealed them to block anyone from attempting to go inside. [edit] ConnecticutIn New England, mostly Fairfield County, this story began in 1860 where there was an asylum situated in the woods of Fairfield County. A century passes, and in 1960, the place burns down, all of the workers are killed and most of the inmates, but about 10 to 20 survived and a search was called. They were never found and they are said to hide in the woods, turn to cannibalism. This new diet allegedly made a new metabokic chemical reaction and so their heads vegan to swell.
In Trumbull, they allegedly live on Velvet Street, or Dracula Drive as some others call. Velvet St. from Judd Avenue is unpaved, but then becomes paved some hundred feet after as there are 4 houses on the street itself. Other areas the Melon Heads legend can be found is in Shelton, Weston, and Monroe (all in Fairfield County); and other towns such as Seymour, Oxford, and Southbury (all in New Haven county). [edit] Their AppearanceThe Melonheads appearance resembles that of a melon, with their head being very large relative to their body. They are also said to be small in stature, skinny and weak looking, and have long slender arms and fingers. Some say their eyes are red, their teeth are crooked and discolored, and they are also hairless - that is they are all bald. [edit] External Links |
