Main article: The Picture of Dorian Gray

People have thought about this morality through and through and have came up with great questions and theories. There is a book called the picture of Dorian Gray where a man named Dorian Gray is given a "gift", he is given the gift of immortality, he can not die or be harmed, for every harmful action committed against him which would of usually hurt him, his painting bears the effects of it, making him immortal, unable to die. So the big question which the author, Oscar Wilde, came up with was -- Can you be immortal and still moral ? what he is getting at is a question which holds its roots in religion. As young humans we are brought up to believe that when we die we will go to either Heaven or Hell. If we are god and moral, then we go to heaven; but if we are bad we go to Hell. So if you are unable to die, if you live without fear of that future consequence, could you be moral ? It is also possible to turn the question to say -- Does a man who is not religious have to be moral ? if you do not believe in Hell, then what can you be afraid of ? What possible consequences are you going to face.
