Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla was a European inventor who moved to the United States and met, among others, Thomas Edison. Tesla is known for many advanced and surprising ideas, and invented, among other things, alternating current. It is said about this genius that he had little higher education. Tesla had some kind of ability to see inventions in "visions", as opposed to struggling with pen and paper to arrive at them. Some speculate that he may have had some sort of esoteric background because of his father.

After his demonstration of wireless communication (radio) in 1894 and after being the victor in the "War of Currents", he was widely respected as America's greatest electrical engineer. Tesla did make alot of break-through things in the world of electrics he can be thought of as one of the greatest minds that has ever been on earth. Never having put much focus on his finances, Tesla died impoverished at the age of 86.
