ScandinaviansFrom TinWiki.org
Scandinavians are inhabitants of the peninsula of Scandinavia in Northern Europe. Since 1905 three countries occupy the territory: Norway and Sweden, and in the far North Russia. There is no such thing as a Scandinavian people. Out of Sweden´s 9 million inhabitants, only 8 are genetically Swedish, with the reminder finding their roots from most parts of the world. The situation is similar in Norway, though not in Russia. The pantheon of Asatru (the religion of the Scandinavians prior to the conversion to Christianity) is said to have some relation to the pantheon of Hinduism. Straddling the northernmost part of the territory of Scandinavia of all three countries is a shamanic people known as Sames in Swedish, who, according to their tradition, share their culture with North American Indians and originate from Tibet.
