The Seal of Solomon has been around in Jewish, Islamic and Christian legends for a very long time, it was considered by most to be a magical signet ring that was possessed by King Solomon or (Sulayman as it states in the Islamic version), which gave him the power to command Demons (or Jinni), or to allow him to communicate with animals.

There have been many descriptions of the seal and its patterns, one version states that the ring was set with four jewels and was made from brass and iron and inscribed with the Name of God. In another version of this, the ring was said to bare the symbol that is now known as the Star of David, the gaps are often filled with dots or other symbols. In another written version of the Seal Of Solomon states that the ring has a pentagram engraved onto it or other more complicated figures.

The research into Demonology depict the pattern of the seal as being two concentric circles, with a number of mystical sigils between the inner and outer circles, and various more-or-less complex geometric shapes within the inner circle.

Ritual Magick

The Seal OF Solomon represents Devine Union in Ritual magick, being composed of a female, watery triangle, and a male, fiery triangle. The traditional elemental triangles of earth, air, water, and fire are said to be derived from the seal. When the points of a hexagram are connected, a hexagon is formed. Kabbalistically, the hexagram represents the Sefirah Tifaret, perfection.
