SiriusFrom TinWiki.org
Sirius is a star system located in the Canis Major star system. It is the brightest star in the night-time sky, with a Magnitude of -1.27. What is percieved by the naked eye to be a single star is actually a binary system, composed of Sirius A, a white main sequence star and Sirius B, a smaller white dwarf star. Sirius A is actually 25 times brighter than the sun. But because of the distance from the Earth, about 8 light years, it does not appear as bright here. Sirius is a bit of a notorius system, because it is at the center of the Sirius Mystery, and was also mentioned by Preston Nichols as having aliens that were in contact with the US government as part of the Montauk Project.
[edit] Facts and TriviaSirius B is so dense, just a teaspoon of it would weigh 2 tons here on the Earth.
