"Group" or "conspiracy?"

Just wondering about the first sentence. Is it correct to say the group is a conspiracy? I mean, shouldn't it more correctly say something like the group is behind, or is involved, in a conspiracy? I just thought the sentence seemed a little bit unclear. 62.16.177.8 16:14, 26 March 2007 (CDT)
