Secret Societies with upper case s

Looking now at the beginning of the article here I noticed "Secret Societies" written with upper case "s". I started to wonder if I made a mistake yesterday when I rewrote another article to say "secret societies" with lower case "s". What I was thinking is, it didn't make sense to, just in general text, use upper case "s" when generally talking about secret societies.

I may be totally wrong here of course. Does it make sense to generally spell it "Secret Societies" with upper case initial letters in text, which means it was wrong of me to change that in the other article yesterday (not sure which article it was, perhaps it was the article called just "Secret Societies")? Or is my thought correct and secret societies should be spelled like I just did now, normally with lower case? Comments much appreciated. Optimist 20:00, 14 May 2007 (CDT)

Material deleted today

I have posted in the discussion of anonymous user at IP 71.65.201.191, asking the user to comment here on his or her deletions today of material from this article. If no explanation is given within a week or two, I think a rollback to the previous version should be considered. Optimist 08:08, 13 December 2007 (CST)

Material deleted for obvious reasons

It is quite obvious that the only deletions made were of completely unsubstantiated and insulting writing that had no basis in fact. If you attempt to role it back and there are no references to actual legitimate sources (and you will find none to back up the points deleted), I will continue to revert it. ~~

Hello, again, and thank you for the reply and for commenting about your deletions. I want to explain where I was coming from, as they say. But first I want to let you know I think it's good that you are editing tinWiki.
I really don't know anything about Freemasonry and frankly I'm not even sure that I've read the article here which we're talking about now. So it's not that you and I have like different opinions.
This website is, of course, a place for collecting information. Therefore, deleting information is kind of a special type of incident here. Since this website is a collaborative wiki, I feel one should always offer some sort of explanation in the discussion page when deleting material, with regard to the other people here who are also trying to look out for this website functioning according to its purposes.
Using myself as an example, I don't really know much about Freemasonry, or about the article, so for me it isn't obvious that your deletions make sense. Right away, all I see is that material is being removed. That's why I feel it is helpful, and even necessary, to offer little explanations to the others here when doing deletions of material.
In my view, communication is necessarily a quite basic part of a wiki. You are offering some explanation about the deletions now, and so I am absolutely content now with the situation as to those edits because you have stated why you feel they should be done. I hope what I'm saying here makes sense. (P.S. I see that I made a mistake and entered only two tildes (~) instead of four when trying to sign in my previous post here.) No problem, I undertstand what you are saying

As you notice, the only things that I deleted are things that are not factual or use weasel words: Ex: "some masonry uses bizzare rituals...or some say masonry is satanic." I have left everything that is factual or is prima facie correct in. I understand why you would be concerned. I am going to see if I can try to improve some of this by adding sources for some of the things in here in a few days.

Odyssey, thank you for the reply, and I am glad my point of view makes sense. I see what you are saying, as well. Adding sources sounds great, also. A goal in the article writing here in tinWiki is to be as serious as at all possible, which is of course necessary for this to actually be an encyclopedia. Optimist 15:27, 15 December 2007 (CST)
