Talk:Plum Island government facility

Image use

There are two images that appear far into the article. If one of the images can be said to relate directly to the main topic of the article, it would perhaps be best to use it in the beginning of the article instead. Optimist 00:26, 14 March 2008 (CDT)

Title specificness

This article is, I believe, not about Plum Island. Which means the title isn't entirely precise.

The first sentence does say what the topic is, but, like the title, it isn't quite precise (or so I believe):

Plum Island is an 840-acre government facility [...]

I could be wrong (since I don't actually know too much about the topic here), but I believe the facility is in fact not called "Plum Island", and this article is clearly about the facility, not the island (which, on the other hand, is indeed called Plum Island, ...or so I believe...). The Wikipedia article that seems to be a kind of equivalent to this one, in that it seems to talk about the same topic, is called "Plum Island Animal Disease Center". *It's* first sentence is:

The Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC) is a United States federal research facility [...]

I assume there aren't two facilities on the island and that one is called "Plum Island" and the other one "Plum Island Animal Disease Center" (but I could easily be wrong, since I don't really know anything about this topic, ...however the respective pictures in the two articles do show the same area/buildings, with a tiny difference in perspective or angle, it seems...). If the topic in this article is in fact not called "Plum Island", then the article title should not be "Plum Island" (even if I see the Michael C. Carroll book/information source seems to talk about this entire topic using just "Plum Island" to refer to the whole 'thing'. But this is an encyclopedia, and so information shouldn't have inaccurate or imprecise titles like I suspect is the case with this one. If I'm right, then I will move this article to some other, more precise title. I will, if so, wait until next week, though, since this article is right now the Featured Article of the Week, and is linked to on the front page and so on. --Optimist 00:26, 5 May 2008 (CDT)
