TinWiki.org:SpamFrom TinWiki.orgWeb forums and wikis are targets of spammers, and tinWiki is unfortunately no exception. For the time being, the method used to deal with spam is to revert spam edits. Users with sysop features to their accounts can also block spammers from editing tinWiki from the same IP address. (Because IP addresses are in reality not linked to individuals, one may consider blocking for the maximum limited time period, instead of blocking an IP just permanently.) There also exist technical possiblities from keeping spammers from posting in the first place, and it is being looked into how tinWiki can benefit from such technical solutions. [edit] How to revert spam editsWhen an article has been spammed, go to that article's version history, view the last legitimate article version, click edit, and then simply save that version. The above method is necessary also for sysop users when several spammers have edited a page. However, sysop users do have two special "powers" regarding spammers. First, the spammer can be blocked from editing tinWiki in the future for a chosen period of time. Second, if the article has only had one spammer edit it, the spammer's edit history can be viewed, and next to each edit there is a link called "rollback". When clicking the rollback link next to a user's edit, all edits done on the page in question are rolled back, and the article will go back to how it looked in the version by the previous user who edited that article.
