A tinfoil hat, also called a TFH or aluminum beanie, is headgear made from sheets of tinfoil. Some believe that tinfoil hats will shield the brain from outside influences such as mind control. Lead is, however, claimed to be the ultimate protection for those who want to avoid mind invasion.

Tinfoil hats have become a symbol of the paranoid and sometimes the conspiracy minded.

Powers

Some people believe that wrapping the cranium with tinfoil will protect them from a variety of mind invasions from different types of evildoers. Tinfoil hats have been said to block all kinds of things from mind control waves to mind reading. The source of the mind invasions have been said to be the government, the NWO and even Aliens.

Disputed claims

Four students at MIT wrote "On the Effectiveness of Aluminium Foil Helmets", an empirical study testing a handful of models of tinfoil hats and their effectiveness against known mind-altering frequencies.

The abstract of the paper follows: "Among a fringe community of paranoids, aluminum helmets serve as the protective measure of choice against invasive radio signals. We investigate the efficacy of three aluminum helmet designs on a sample group of four individuals. Using a $250,000 network analyser, we find that although on average all helmets attenuate invasive radio frequencies in either directions (either emanating from an outside source, or emanating from the cranium of the subject), certain frequencies are in fact greatly amplified. These amplified frequencies coincide with radio bands reserved for government use according to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). Statistical evidence suggests the use of helmets may in fact enhance the government's invasive abilities. We speculate that the government may in fact have started the helmet craze for this reason."

That as crazy as it may sound, the principle of metal shielding is a very real effect used for most modern electrical devices to block electro-magnetic signal leakage and interference. To prove the shielding, wrap your cell phone in a sheet of al-foil and try to call it. You should get the same effect to the caller as if the phone was turned off or out of range.

In this modern age we are bombarded with radio waves of many frequencies passing through us 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It might be best said, with the low cost of creating an al-foil cap wrapped over the head. That one can actually try this for yourself to see if you feel any less stressful. Having tried this myself, as crazy as it sounds, the relief of stress was reduced dramatically within a few seconds, being similar to the relaxation of alcohol, without the tipsy feelings. In fact a very real peaceful state was achieved.

Don't take my word for it, try yourself. However, you might want to stay out of sight from others who might think you are crazy.

For best results 2 or 3 sheets thickness to make is sturdy. To stop the looks of the public (if you were not paranoid before this, you might start to feel it with all the looks of passers by) you might be best to build this into a hat or cap of a size bigger than you would usually wear.
