From TinWiki.org

Hi Omega85. Thanks for contributing to the tinWiki. Unfortunately your 'Majesic 12 entry had to be deleted for a few reasons. I will list them here so that you will know to avoid them in the future.

  • The title was spelled wrong
  • There is already an entry for Majestic 12
  • There was no links provided to confirm the data in the article.

Please review the Tutorial for proper format, ect..
I look forward to reading your future entries.

Thanks

Men In Black

Omega85, I 've fixed the headers in this article you have started. Please take a look so that you will have a better idea as how to ues headers.

Thanks

P.S. What are you using to spell check?

=================================================================

Besides the spelling there are a couple of other things I would like you to fix. Add related links, these should be links to other websites. You should also try and have a couple of theories as to what you think the MIB are, both for and against.

The Bermuda Triangle

Here are a few tips on cleaning up this article.

"Your introduction does not need a header."

  • The article will look much cleaner if you remove the bold lettering from the headings. We should always avoid bolding headings and links. You don't need to bold the subject name every time in the article, just in the introduction is fine.

  • A good header may be a list of vessels and aircraft that have gone missing. You can give names and dates. That would be very useful information.

Thanks.

Editing an entry

Hello Omega. Dont worry, you dont sound ignorant. This was a huge learning experience for myself as well. Before tinwiki I had no clue what a wiki was, nevermind how to do anything. As far as I am concerned, the only foolish questions are the ones you dont ask. As for your question, when you edit an entry, at the bottom of the screen there is the word "summary" with a field that you can type in next to it. Just type in there what you edited and it will show up on the history tab. And that answers your second question as well. If an author wants to see what changes have been made to an entry, all he has to do is click on the history tab at the top of the screen. Then you can compare revisions however you like. This is also generally how I check to see if an article has been vandalized. The first stop I make when I come to tinwiki is the recent changes page. There is a link for it on the left. If I see a page has had editing done to it, I will compare the most recent version with a version that I know was good. You can tell right away that way if there is anything out of place.

Hi Omega!

I hear you got a new job! I hope it works out well for you, and that you like what you are doing.. But then again, who likes to work?!? Anyhow, about your question about a Dulce article, there already is an existing Dulce article: http://tinwiki.org/wiki/Dulce But please, feel free to add to that one. It could really use some meat and potatoes. I am happy you are back, you are a great contributor.

Vandals

As of right now there isn't any way to block non-registered users from editing. We must find another way of keeping out the vandals and porn linksters. Sorry, I know this wasn't the solution some of you were hoping for.
